Hi there! I'm Fisher. 👋🏾
I'm the solo developer behind Cake Budget. As someone who is diagnosed with bipolar 2 and is neurodivergent, I've experienced firsthand how challenging financial management can be when your brain works a bit differently.
"During manic episodes, I'd make impulsive purchases that I'd later regret. During depressive phases, I'd avoid looking at my finances altogether. Traditional budgeting advice assumes a neurotypical brain that makes consistent, rational financial decisions - but that's not how my brain works."
So I built Cake Budget - the budgeting app I desperately needed. One that automates everything possible, uses visual cues instead of numbers, and acknowledges that paycheck-to-paycheck living is a reality, not a moral failing. After 2+ years of personal use and refinement, I'm ready to share it with others who need a different approach.
